How to Delete Your WriteHuman Account

Steps to delete your account from settings, what happens to your subscription, and what to do if you hit an error.

Written by Ivan Jackson

This article explains how to delete your WriteHuman account from your settings, what happens to your subscription when you do, and what to do if you run into an error.

Cancel your subscription before you delete (if you are on a paid plan)

Canceling a subscription and deleting an account are two separate actions. Deleting your account does not necessarily stop a subscription that is billed separately, so if you are paying, please cancel your subscription first.

  1. Sign in at writehuman.ai.

  2. Go to My Account, then click Cancel Subscription.

  3. Confirm the cancellation. Canceling stops future renewals, and your access continues until the end of the period you already paid for.

Subscription purchases are non-refundable, and canceling does not refund the current period. If you have a billing question or think a charge is wrong, reach out to our team and a person will help you look into it. If you would rather not cancel yourself, contact our support team and we can help.

How to delete your account

If you can sign in, you can delete your account yourself. Use the same email address you originally signed up with, because accounts are located by email.

  1. Sign in at writehuman.ai with the email, Google, or Apple login you use.

  2. Open your account settings.

  3. Go to the Security section.

  4. Choose the option to delete your account and confirm.

The delete option is in your account settings under Security. Deleting your account removes your account and your data, so there is no separate data-deletion request to make.

If you cannot log in

You need to be signed in to delete your account, so first get back into your account:

  • Use the Forgot Password link on the sign-in page to reset your password. WriteHuman does not store your password, so a reset is the way back in.

  • If you originally signed up with Google or Apple, use that same button to sign in.

  • If the reset link sends you back to the sign-in page instead of a reset page, or you are not sure which email is tied to your account, contact our support team and we will help.

If you see an error while deleting

Some people run into an internal error when trying to delete their account. If that happens to you:

  • Try again after reloading the page and signing back in.

  • If the error continues, contact our support team from the email address on the account and let us know you hit an error while deleting. We can help from there.

What happens to your subscription and data

Deleting your account removes your account and your data, and it ends your access to WriteHuman. Remember that if you are on a paid plan billed separately, deleting the account may not stop that billing on its own, so cancel your subscription first and confirm the cancellation. If you are unsure whether your subscription was canceled, contact our team so we can check.

Note: a charge from a different merchant name is not from WriteHuman. Unrelated companies with similar names exist, so if a charge does not match a WriteHuman subscription, please check with that other merchant.
