If your card is declined or your payment fails at checkout, this article explains the most common cause and the steps that usually get your purchase through, especially when you are paying with an international card.
Why your card was declined
A decline or an "Insufficient Funds" message on a card that clearly has enough money is very often a security block placed by your own bank, not a problem on our side. Many banks block international or foreign-currency (USD) online transactions by default, and this is especially common with some regional cards.
When this happens, your bank stops the payment before it ever reaches WriteHuman, so the charge never completes.
How to get your payment through
Any one of these steps usually clears the block. Try them in order.
Call your bank. Use the phone number on the back of your card and ask them to authorize (or whitelist) an international online transaction in USD. Ask them to keep it open for the next 30 minutes or so, then retry the payment right away.
Try Apple Pay at checkout. Paying with Apple Pay or an alternative method can bypass some direct bank blocks. If your card is linked to Apple Pay, choose that option on the checkout page.
Use a virtual or prepaid card. A virtual or prepaid card that allows international USD payments will often go through when a standard card will not.
The amount may show in your local currency
WriteHuman prices are in US dollars, but your bank or card may display the amount converted into your local currency. This is normal and does not mean anything is wrong. You can review current prices at writehuman.ai/pricing.
If the payment still fails
If you have tried the steps above and the payment still will not go through, or if the error appears to be happening on the checkout page itself rather than at your bank, please contact our support team. A screenshot of the error message helps us look into it quickly.
